Artist Statement
You will see the influence of some of my favorite artists, Mucha, Klimt and Modigliani. Women are my main focus of my art, because, to me, there is nothing more beautiful than the female form. I love Curves! I have the pleasure of exaggerating and accentuating pieces to suit my own taste and tell my own story.
You will see flow and movement
in my works and I aim to draw the eye in, around and back out again. I often
use metalic and irrodecent paint. I love the way the light can change the
whole feel of the painting, just by changing the lighting. I love to incorperate
words in my works. People tell me they are amazed when they find details
or messages they have never noticed in the last 20 times they saw the piece!
When I am heavy in
thought, I will often run to my canvas to pour out what’s on my mind.
To express a story, thought, confusion, desire or fear. I paint spontaneously,
always freehand, not overly concerned with the outcome. I let the canvas
take control and dictate itself to me. I submit to the whims of the painting
and the need to express.
